Our Planned Way To Go
The 0.3.n series are mainly intended to remove XRC and to to give more flexibility that we later more control over commandos and events and the GUI. That will make things like macro recorder and different key layouts possible. It also helps to seperate localisation from the GUI configs. On the way we can deliver bookmarks, code folding and auto completition. The syntax-mode thing will come in 0.4.n.0.3.2 (codename HomeSite) brings some new toolbar-icons (rectangulear lesection comment, run?, tidy?, tools?), but most of the work will be done on the inside. Tollbar und Searchbar will be build from new conf files, maybe syntaxstyles too.
0.3.3 continues this work. Statusbar and contextmenus are now build from new conf files, maybe there will some more contextmenus.
0.3.4 Now the main menu. Events also have to build by own mechanisms. An Plugin API will appear and dynamic menus for plugins, config files, documents, most recently used files.
All that can always change because development is life and unpredictable. (But I think its always good to have a plan to throw away.)
